A Security System Video Camera Installation

Get a Free Security Analysis

Ever wonder how a security system video camera is installed? We’d like to take you through our video camera installation process, step-by-step.

One of our professional technicians, Josh Carlson, gladly volunteered to show how he installs a security system camera. This installation occurs after pre-wiring is complete.

First, Josh starts out by scouting the area, determining the best placement of the camera. After deciding just where the camera will go, Josh starts cutting into the ceiling to allow the wiring to come through.

Next, Josh places a black plate on the ceiling and pulls the wiring down out of the ceiling.

After that, Josh has to adapt the wiring to work with the video camera.

Josh then attaches the camera mount, which will hold the camera, to the ceiling.

After that, Josh carefully attaches the camera.

Next, Josh attaches the silver panel to the ceiling to protect the wiring for the camera.

Finally, Josh adjusts the camera to make sure it is aimed correctly and checks it on a monitor, making adjustments if necessary.

At this point, the camera has been successfully installed, the aim adjusted, and the connection to the monitor checked. Now Josh can move on and install another security camera. With the pre-wiring completed before installation, installing a video camera can be quick and simple for our professional technicians!
